Is KidsWatch compatible with Caylix?
Yes, KidsWatch works well with Caylix filtering and adds an easy to use customer solution to adding extra protection for your computer.
What special settings do you need to run KidsWatch?
None, the only option is to make sure KidsWatch can do updates by entering the Caylix Proxy settings when prompted. If you use the Caylix Easy Option, this isn't even required.
Does KidsWatch block more than Caylix?
No, but KidsWatch has a function to block pages specified by the user, such as Facebook or YouTube. Caylix can block these for you but KidsWatch allows you to control when and how this is done, and by a per user (child) basis.
What does KidsWatch do that Caylix doesn’t?
KidsWatch allows the customer to control what users on their computer connect to the internet and what time that user can use the computer. KidsWatch also gives the user control over what applications can connect to the internet.
What does Caylix do that KidsWatch doesn’t?
Caylix is internet connection specific filter, meaning that any computer connecting to a Caylix internet connection will be filtered. Caylix also requires the use of a username and password to get online content.
Does Caylix recommend using KidsWatch?
Yes we do, if a customer requires some time control software on their computer, which Caylix can’t do. It can also provide some additional filtering capability, such as one child allowed to access a website but not another.
Is KidsWatch better than Caylix?
As the names suggest (KidsWatch vs Caylix Internet filtering), these two products do quite different things and thus are hard to compare. One is for controlling what kids do on the computer (and optionally internet), and the other is an all-around internet filter for the entire connection.
Using KidsWatch with Caylix allows the user to have the best of both worlds, with no compatibility issues or other ill effects.
