This is an update to the previous news item about dialup. See the previous news item to read more about the changes required, or read further for the update.
The current situation is that our original dialup provider (who handled @caylix.com logins for us) has not been able to fix their servers.
Last year, we started a process to migrate @caylix.com dialup logins to a new provider. This didn't complete due to migration problems with the old provider, although @caylix.ca logins worked fine with the new provider. This is all due to technical and political issues with some big companies in the US.
The short of the story is that all dialup customers can login with YOUR_USERNAME@caylix.ca and have Internet access. If you have not already called us, we can provide assistance if required. Normally this is a 1-2 minute change to get you back online.
Note: this only affects the dialup login. Your email address and proxy username are still the same (@caylix.com). However, email sent to YOUR_USERNAME@caylix.ca has always been forwarded to your @caylix.com so you can use whichever you prefer.
The good news is that before this problem, our dialup providers have been very reliable. Moving forward we hope the new provider will be just as reliable and will not let us down.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We are doing our best to help all customers as they call in (or email) for assistance. We will also issue a credit on the March 1st invoice.
